Default downloads/uploads timing out

Running FTP server 2.21 I have settings at default and as far as connecting to the server by other I have no problems. It connects with IE, FF and most ftp clients fine.

The problem I am having is that when someone is uploading to me it times out and it also times out when some is downloading. This happens with just one user connected.

I also tried this. I connected my self to the server and justlet it stay connected without download or uploading anything and it timed out also.

Is there a setting I have to change to correct this?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

It sounds like you do not have PASSIVE-MODE support setup correctly or you need to punch a hole in the firewall of the PASSIVE-MODE ports.

We have several tools developed to help fix this problem.

Online FTP Tester:

Documentation on setting up NAT/Firewall:

Thansk for the reply. The test page was very helpful and I did do some resetting.

The few users that have downloaded since the fix have not timed out so, so far so good.

Thanks again.
